Some items on this list have urgent deadlines, and some are added in hopes of finding time to tackle them. I would like to help you to conquer that one project that is dear to your heart, but rarely makes the move to the top of your list.
Together we can conquer this daunting process with a few tried and true methods mixed in with an awesome splash of modern technology. With one phone call I can guide you to a process that works for you. This process can be tailored to your specific needs and style. You can choose to do the entire process yourself, or you can hire me to take care of all or parts of your project. I look forward to discussing these possibilities with you!
I enjoy meeting with individuals and small groups to present the process of organizing, preserving and sharing your photos and other family collections. I can provide some time saving tools and guidelines for the process or you can hire me to take care of all or parts of your project.
My mission is to empower you to organize, protect and share your precious family archives.
Archivists are responsible for assembling, cataloging, preserving and managing valuable collections of historical information. This assures that the items will be available in the future.
Archivists apply the 2 principles of 'provenance (origin and relation)’ and `original order' when managing their collections. This creates context that adds value to a collection.
Treat your collections as having a current and historical value by allowing me to apply archival principles to your project.
My Practice
The value that I can add to your collection is to make it used and useful to you. After our initial interview I will propose a structure and method for your approval. To preserve your collection I will use both a flatbed and a camera scanning process that produce high quality digital images. I work from my home office and can work on site if needed. Your precious collection will be treated as if it is my own.
